Palazzo Francesconi is a historical
palace that dates back to the early XVI century.
An ancient tradition attributes the sketch of this palace to the famous
architect Baldassarre Peruzzi, who in 1520 began the
construction , and he was obviously at the peak of his skills..
The palace, declared of particular historical interest from the office for
the cultural goods, occupies a prime spot inside the ancient walls, halfway
between the shell-shaped Campo and the Fortezza Medicea
(which offers a powerful combination to visitors: views across the
entire city and a municipal enoteca where wine tasting is encouraged from
noon to midnight).
Although it is only a few minutes'walk to the epicenter of the city, it is
across the street from the main depot for public buses which go to the many
small towns in the province, and from one of the rarest finds in
pedestrian-only Siena: a place to park while bags are loaded and unloaded.
The apartments within Francesconi Palace are furnished with
antiques, beamed ceilings, flooring in parquet and tiles handworked in
granite. Sheets are silk and upholstery is damask, linen or silk.
Rooms are spacious and inviting, modern kitchens have fridge, burners and
stove and bathrooms are efficient. There is no elevator.
Apartment Corniola sleeps

featuring a dining table for four, as well as two single day beds, and a

The double bedroom has two twin or one double bed and beautiful wood beams,
and there is a bathroom with shower
across the hall.
Apartment Ambra sleeps 4+2: 1000 square feet, on

under soaring wood-beamed ceilings, you'll find a double sleep sofa, more
seating, and a table for six. Off the hallway are two double bedrooms, a
bathroom with shower and a small kitchen.
Apartment Giada sleeps 4: 900 square feet.
Unlike the other apartments, which are on the top floor, it has low
frescoed ceilings which give the rooms cozy, country cottage feel.
On one side of the spacious entry are two double bedrooms, on the other
side are a living/dining room with love seat and a table for four, plus an
eat-in kitchen with terracotta floors and two bathrooms with showers.
